A glimpse into our Antwerp atelier

The process for each bag begins in our Antwerp-based atelier, with research, materials and references pinned to a large moodboard. Versatility is an inherent part of a design since the beginning. With adjustable straps, compartments, or configurations for crossbody, short shoulder, or backpack carry, some bags offer 4-7 ways to wear, fitting one’s needs. So Therefore, initial prototypes are first crafted in-house by our small team, in paper or canvas, refining through many rounds of trial and error. After, we advance to versions in leather or final materials.

After, when the prototype is perfect regarding detail and finishing, it is sent to one of our production ateliers - Venetian Style or LSP - along with tests and digital patterns. They then craft a fresh iteration from leftover leather, which we review and adjust over two or three cycles, until the design is set. From initial sketch to completion, this process is important, and can sometimes span over more than two years.

The Wine bag and Lies bag marked a transition period in the label. We evolved from earlier, more architectural designs, to current collections like Oyster or Ensis, featuring a softer and less traditional shape, driven by folds, smooth lines and nature. The Lies bag, released in 2023, still captures both ways of seeing, making it a bridge between our earlier work and current collection. The design deconstructs and reinterprets a classic pattern. Its rectangular front and triangular side emerge from deliberate folds in the leather, creating deceptively simple lines over complex, hand-guided construction that demands precise material working and a step-by-step production process.
