Meet Mauranne

Meet Mauranne, ceramist of Misena ceramics and our former collegue. Focussed on the beauty of natural form and material, Misena grew into an oasis of wheel-thrown ceramics.

Since Mauranne used to be part of the Lies Mertens team, she is very familiar with all our bags, models and colours and she wanted something bold and compact. The Mauranne bag turned out to be a small crossbody bag, a box-shaped shoulder bag with a magnetic closure and an adjustable strap, is smaller than our CMMC classic, but larger than our CMMC Mini.

Feeling attracted to ceramics, she registered at the art academy in Antwerp to follow evening classes and developed her own signature steet behind the potter's wheel.

When the first lockdown started, her dad made her a wheel of her own to use at home. This way, she could keep training and practising while all other activities were on hold. She soon bought her own oven for firing and finishing her pieces and after lots of experimenting and learning about materials and techniques, she opened her ceramics webshop Misena.
