Unfold, a study of the Oyster Bag
The Oyster Bag is the first release in the Shell Collection. A project shaped by ongoing research and a longstanding fascination with shells, how they fold, protect, and open.
The collection was initially planned for release last spring. But at the time, something felt unfinished. Rather than push forward, we paused. Letting the idea rest allowed it to grow. What followed was a long phase of refinement, sketches, tests, adjustments.

The result is a bag that moves with the body. It folds and drapes according to the leather’s character, not in spite of it. The form was developed through repeated prototyping, guided by origami-inspired techniques and careful material study.

The Oyster Bag is crafted in Calfino leather and handmade in our Italian atelier. Each piece reflects a balance of structure and fluidity, and marks the beginning of a new chapter in our work with form.
De Oesterij
The study on oysters eventually brought us to De Oesterij in Zeeland. A place defined by slowness, repetition, and care. Here, oysters are cultivated over years, shaped by tides, weather and time. No two are alike. This approach felt familiar. Like the handmade process, it values rhythm over speed. Intuition over uniformity. The connection between nature and craft became the foundation for our campaign.
We spoke with Jean Dhooge of De Oesterij about the parallels between oyster farming and design. How both require attention, patience, and the willingness to adapt to what the material, or the sea, offers.
The Oyster Bag was photographed on site. Between the docks, the crates and the salt air, the form found its place.
