Patina, a guesthouse above our atelier

Patina started in the rooms above our Antwerp atelier. What had once been a family home became a guesthouse and a place for objects, materials and work by people around us.

Around the time we opened its doors, we photographed Els, Jane and Sabine there. Three women we had come to know through our Antwerp store, photographed throughout the house in their own clothes and with bags from our collection.

For several years, Patina functioned as a guesthouse and a place for small exhibitions, dinners and collaborations, alongside our atelier downstairs. In 2025, that chapter came to an end. The house became a home again.

That transition became the setting for Coming home at Patina, photographed five years after the first campaign.

Much of Patina was built from what was already there. Existing materials were reused, adapted or given another function throughout the house.

Patina refers to the marks and imprints created on objects by use and time. In the interior of the guesthouse, most of the work was done using existing materials and reusing or reworking them. A few years ago, we made a bag collection in the color olive. With leftover leathers from this collection we made a leather sofabed and doors.

For the campaign, we worked with their own clothes and personal style alongside pieces from the collection. Els was one of the first customers to purchase the Lies bag.

The ground floor is the atelier of the handbag label, where we make all prototypes and unique pieces ourselves.
